THE VWD Group of Companies VINYL WINDOW DESIGNS LTD. The main operation, began production in 1986 with five employees in a five thousand square ft. facility. Two young and enthusiastic professional entrepreneurs started the company. Philip Spatafora became the President and, with expertise in industrial production, took responsibility for manufacturing. Lino D'uva became the Vice President and took charge of sales and marketing, where he always excelled. To be successful in a highly competitive business and exceed customers' expectations, the two partners knew they had to set a very high standard for their new company. The objective of VWD was to offer the best quality product, excellent customer service and prompt delivery of its product at a competitive price. This was not an easy task to achieve. However, with determination, perseverance and hard work, VWD progressed rapidly, and the company earned the respect of the marketplace. Soon VWD gave birth to a series of new and improved products know as "TECHWELD 2000 WINDOWS", taking advantage of new vinyl welding technologies and other cutting edge design features. The partners' foresight, and long-term outlook within the industry helped VWD to gain market share. Success required VWD to move to a larger manufacturing facility. In 1988, after only a relatively short time, VWD moved from its original 5,000 square ft. to a facility 18,000 square feet location where it employed 25 people. Growth continued and in the fall of 1993 VWD moved to an even larger space of 55,000 sq. ft. By this time, VWD had sold over 3.2 million window and employed 120 people. Our strong dealer network has allowed us to manufacture Aluminum and Storm Windows, Storm Doors and Three Season Sunshine Enclosures. VWD currently leads the remodeling business in Ontario, Canada in vinyl Window sales. VWD also exports to Japan, Argentina, Columbia, Russia, Germany, Poland and the United States of America. In 1996, VWD entered the new construction market. Our new construction line has been continually modified in response to changing customer needs. VWD has an on-staff industrial engineer for product and process development. Our technical/service department head, as are all key personnel, is a knowledgeable professional veteran with many years of window experience. The company also has a fleet of trucks and trailers that deliver daily to our customers in regions of Ontario and the U.S.A. The new millennium has begun with SecurPlus™, our flagship product line, qualifying for some of the most prestigious product certifications offered in North America as our company is one of the few that has chosen to work closely with the Canadian Standards Association Certification Program in Canada and with both the National Fenestration Ratings Council and with ENERGYSTAR ® in the United States.
People are everything. At VWD we're proud of the quality individuals who have chosen to bring their professional skills and high standards to our family. Paul Alkhoury, Quality Control, Research & Development - Paul came to us from Canadian Building Envelope Science and Technology (CAN-BEST) where he was a testing and lab supervisor for windows and doors. He has also done inspections for numerous government projects. Paul continues to head quality control, research and development for our product line and supervises our many prestigious certifications. Karl Waldie, Service Coordinator - Karl has been with VWD for three years. Karl has numerous years of building trade experience and has provided front line service in our industry for seven years prior to joining our team. His courtesy, insight and attention to detail continue to assist us in providing the best possible service to you when you need it the most! Fateh Virji, Customer Trainer - As the senior member of our sales department, Fateh performs many duties, however we believe it is important for you to understand the training program that he has pioneered and continues to operate for our dealers and their professional customers. It is a shame when you, the consumer, get less than you deserve because you fell victim to an effective "sales pitch" for an inferior product. Fateh works with our customers to improve their technical understanding of the options that are available in the marketplace and why VWD has chosen to include some and not others in our SecurPlus™ package. Fateh then works with our customers to help them to develop their own listening and communication skills so they can be more effective in bringing the facts to you!
